Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
By accessing or using Cutout (“the site”, “the service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Description of service
Cutout is a free tool that removes the background from images. All image processing happens locally in your browser — the site does not require an account and does not receive or store the images you process.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to process images you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site's operation.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the site's underlying code or models beyond what is openly published in their original open-source repositories.
- Use automated systems to send excessive requests to the site's hosting infrastructure.
Your content
You retain all ownership rights to any images you process using this tool. Because processing happens locally in your browser, we never receive, store, or claim any rights over your images.
Intellectual property
The site's design, branding, and original code are owned by CUTOUT. The AI inference pipeline relies on open-source software, including ONNX Runtime Web and components derived from the background-removal-js project, used under their respective open-source licenses.
Advertising
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or other advertising networks. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used.
No warranty
The site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that background removal results will be error-free or suitable for any particular purpose, including compliance with third-party requirements such as ID photo or marketplace specifications — please verify results against the specific requirements you need to meet.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Editor's note: fill in the bracketed placeholders (date, owner name, governing jurisdiction) before publishing, and have these terms reviewed by a lawyer if you expect meaningful traffic or revenue — this template covers the essentials but isn't a substitute for legal advice.
